Please set out your representation here, relating to "soundness". If applicable, what changes do you propose to make the document "sound"?

To help the independent Planning Inspector manage the examination, we ask that representations are concise and, where they are necessarily detailed, that you provide a concise summary setting out your main points.

The site is not appropriate for any development because it is contrary to policy SP7 and the proposal is directly contrary to the conclusions reached in Appendix 3D of the sustainability survey of sites in 2014.

The proposal will result in urban density in a rural area. Any further development in Aldington should be only one-off, infill developments of one or two dwellings within the village curtilage. Aldington has had more than it's fair share of developments recently.

The site:

- is visually intrusive - difficult to screen, highly visible from many viewpoints and over long distances
- extends village into rural land away from its core
- involves the loss of greenfield arable land
- has only very weak and inadequate landscape protections proposed for it
- erodes the separation of Aldington from Smeeth - contrary to ABC policy SP7

The site is not sustainable because of poorInfrastructure. Aldington is a village with
- Very infrequent buses on weekday daytimes only
- Roads poor and very narrow
- No Surgery
- School is full
