| Comment | S51 (MC94) – Aldington, Land north of Church View These sites are located over a Principal Aquifer and adjacent to a historic landfill. For all of the above sites, adequate investigation and risk assessment should be carried out to address any contamination and risks to controlled waters. In completing any site investigations and risk assessments the applicant should assess the risk to groundwater and surface waters from contamination which may be present and where necessary propose appropriate remediation. In addition any sustainable drainage design should demonstrate that the discharge will not result in pollution of the water environment. Detailed comments on any specific site will be provided at the planning application stage, to ensure adequate investigation and if necessary remediation is carried out to address any identified contamination and risks to controlled waters.
