[Relevant text inserted below} MC52 Policy HOU6 Self and Custom Build Development 4.1 In our representations to the pre-submission Local Plan we set out our concerns as to the lack of clarity in this Policy and then its practical application (paras 8.11 – 8.13). 4.2 MC52 has now amended the Policy to confirm that sites within and on the edge of Ashford of more than 40 dwellings will be required to provide no less than 5% of their plots for self or custom build development. 4.3 On this basis, th

Bowbridge Land is supportive in principle of the support for self and custom build development in Ashford. However, Bowbridge Land do not consider that Policy HOU6 is positively prepared in that it fails to communicate clearly the duty to give suitable development permission to enough suitable serviced plots of land to meet the demand for self-build and custom housebuilding in their area Policy HOU6 should be amended to not preclude self and custom built development being brought forward on sit
