7.8 Policy ENV3, ENV3a and ENV3b – Landscape Character and Design (MC72) 7.8.1 The importance of the setting of the AONB, as highlighted in the revised ENV3 is noted however Gladman object to the wording currently set out which states:‐ 'Within the setting of the AONBs, priority will be given over other planning considerations to the conservation or enhancements of natural beauty,….' 7.8.2 Gladman consider that such issues must be considered on a case by case basis and assessed as part of a bal

I would like a landscape Protection Policy similar to Aldington's to be adopted borough wide. My concern is the protection of green spaces, rural landscapes, wildlife areas and the the specific and unique characteristics of rural villages. I'd like to see protected green belts between settlements in and around the Ashford urban area to prevent urban sprawl, and I'd like all the local plan policies to reflect the same philosophy that's covered in the landscape protection policy being proposed b

Some while ago the residents of the villages of Smeeth and Brabourne drew up a Community Led Plan (CLP). One of the considerations within the plan was that of residential development. The general consensus was that small developments of 6 to 10 houses were acceptable within the confines of the villages and this level of development is still supported. Subsequently a survey was commissioned which was designed to build on the results of the CLP, the Landscape Protection Policy (LPP) being the resu

I would like to ensure that our green spaces, rural landscapes, wildlife areas and the unique characteristic of the charming, rural villages are protected. I previously lived in a village in Lancashire which has been destroyed by extensive building (extensive related to its size). I would like also that green belts between settlements are protected, including around the Ashford urban area so that urban sprawl is prevented. I also feel that local plan policies should be reflecting the same philos

The parishes are supportive of this policy, as it features some of the criteria that were suggested for inclusion in the draft Landscape Protection Policy. However, the opportunity to provide for assessment of the cumulative impacts and effects does not seem to be included. The parishes would wish the Council to reconsider the inclusion of a suitably worded environmental policy along the following lines for inclusion in the plan (potentially as Policy ENV3c): Proposals for land use changes and

In ENV3b the words 'immediately adjoining' in the second sentence should be replaced by 'affecting' to be consistent with the requirement of Section 85 of the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000 for relevant authorities to have regard to the purpose of conserving and enhancing in exercising and performing any functions in relation to "or so as to affect" AONBs. Development outside AONBs can affect them even if it does not adjoin the boundary - for instance if it is visible from the AONB or in

The Landscape Protection Policy Please see the enclosed representations by Peter Brett on behalf of the Ward of Saxon Shore and other villages. The Villages within Saxon Shore overwhelmingly support a policy in the local plan that seeks to make tangible many of the somewhat vague comments within the plan about protection of the characteristics of certain areas. Origionally, ABC agreed to enshrine this in policy, and indeed it has been included, if somehat diluted. policy ENV3 in the draft

MC 72 ABC Policy ENV3a - Landscape Character and Design * We support this Policy however, with the close proximity of Shadoxhurst to Ashford and the major proposed growth in housing developments in the life of the emerging Local Plan and beyond, we feel that this Policy is not sufficient to take account of all cumulative impacts and effects on the village. We are therefore proposing the creation of a Landscape Protection Policy for Shadoxhurst. * A strong case for creating a Landscape Protectio
