Policy MC12 S5 Land South of Pound   Lane (Page 62)

Heritage This site has potential to contain significant multi-period archaeological remains and historic landscape features. There are no designated heritage assets within the site but several lie just outside the boundary. Westhawk Farm Roman small town Scheduled Monument lies c. 450m to the north but remains associated with later prehistoric and Roman activity have been located in the wider area.  A geophysical survey has been undertaken on the site and cropmarks and geophysical anomalies are identified, some of which could indicate industrial activity sites.  Some of the field boundaries may date back to prehistoric field systems. A phased programme of archaeological mitigation will be required. Pre-determination evaluation would be necessary to determine where development is possible within site.
