To be "Sound" a Plan should be Positively Prepared, Justified, Effective and Consistent with National Policy
Do you consider that this ‘Main Modification’ is sound? Yes
If you previously commented on the Local Plan, as a result of this ‘Main Modification’ do you wish to withdraw, replace or add to any previous comments? On behalf of Egerton Parish Council and its Neighbourhood Plan Committee, I make the following comments on MM31, S30 - New Road: The modification using the words "indicative capacity for 15 units" is understood to reflect the national position of flexibility, to focus on good design. This is a valid point as good design and layout is very significant in rural areas, for example to avoid hard edges between development and countryside - a factor that can be reflected specifically in a Neighbourhood Plan. The restriction to dwellings of no more than 2 storeys height is a helpful restriction in this location. The new wording in point f) (contributions towards open space etc in accordance with Policy COM2) should be of benefit to Egerton, but in the event contributions to such provision prove superfluous to requirements, Egerton needs reassurance that the Community Infrastructure Levy on developers will still apply and may be used for other projects that add to the community's sustainability, safety and well-being.
