Thank you for the letter we received on 22 July 2015 advising Highways England of the above consultation and apologies for missing the 10 July 2015 closing date. Highways England has been appointed by the Secretary of State for Transport as strategic highway company under the provisions of the Infrastructure Act 2015 and is the highway authority, traffic authority and street authority for the strategic road network (SRN). The SRN is a critical national asset and as such Highways England works t

I have had limited time to respond to this and regrettably have not been able look at the supporting documents. I have focused on: * The vision in relation to Wye being an exemplar of sustainability - including natural environment. * My main area of interest which is about functional and attractive landscape, biodiversity and Green Infrastructure. * What has been said about business space provision given the impact this has had on my own business, location and ability to grow. As with my co

Thank you for consulting Natural England on this Neighbourhood Plan. The document seems to have changed little from the version published in January 2015. I append my response (to the Parish, dated 13th March 2015) to that document and confirm that we have a few remaining comments: * We note various consents (eg the Naccolt site) and the decision to remove the ADAS site as an allocation.  * The NP talks about the options for the ADAS site, including woodland or a solar farm.  In view of the

Glossary –  Suggest AONB definition is amended as follows: Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – in the case of Wye, the Kent Downs – national designation equivalent to National Parks in terms of landscape quality, scenic beauty and planning status.   National policy requires great weight to be given to conserving landscape and scenic beauty in Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which are recognised as having the highest status of protection in relation to landscape and scenic beauty. The proposed masterplan approach for the redevelopment of the WYE3 site is welcomed. It would be useful to have clarification as to who is responsible for the production of this.  Policy WNP11 For clarity, the first sentence of this policy should be amended to include the words 'be required to' (f) the required upgrading of footpath links between Withersdane and the village to accommodate mobility scooter access needs to be executed in such a way as to respect the rural AONB setting and not i

Policy WP8 – Countryside and environment Although included in the supporting text, neither policy WNP8 nor any other policy in the Neighbourhood Plan refers specifically to the AONB.  This is considered essential and without which the AONB Unit considers the Neighbourhood Plan would not be compliant with the NPPF.  Policy WNP 8 should include a requirement for all new development to conserve and enhance the qualities of the Kent Downs AONB, including tranquility and reference be made to any dev
