Policy SP1 a. states ".........makes the best use of brownfield opportunities." However other policies throughout the plan suggest significant restrictions towards achieving this objective. Policy HOU4 use of the sentence " minor residential and infilling of a scale that can easily integrated into the existingsettlement (my emphasis) will be acceptable within the confines of the following settlements". General comment regarding the plan. The overall vision/concept to regenerate the Town centre in Ashford is very good, as is the reuse of brownfield sites. Whilst noting that proposals for CIL are lower in the centre I think more should be done to make it even more viable to undertake developments of brownfield sites and discourage the use of new sites until all appropriate sites have been reused.
