Overall we are pleased to note that matters of interest to us have been addressed and as such we consider the sound. We do however, have a few comments to make and suggested amendments for clarification purposes Policy ENV1 – Biodiversity We support the aims and objectives of this policy While reference to BAP habitats in the second paragraph is understood, these are also referred to as Priority Habitats.

Policy ENV1 – Biodiversity Generally the policy is well received and supported, subject to the comment below. Policy ENV1 – Biodiversity 5.30 In principal Policy ENV1 is supported. However, objection is raised to the following sentence: 'Where harm to biodiversity assets cannot be avoided, appropriate mitigation will be required on land that is suitably established prior to commencement of development….' 5.31 This is an unreasonable and inflexible approach to take since it does not necessarily follow that mitigation measures have to be in place before development can commence.
