The Ashford Green Corridor is an important biodiversity asset within the Borough. To the south of the Town, the plan on page 281 of the consultation document shows 'future potential' extending from Chilmington Green in the west, through the new allocations proposed to the south of Ashford and then eastwards to Cheeseman's Green. The protection and enhancement of the Ashford Green Corridor is one of the key objectives of the Plan set out in Policy ENV2 and the Council therefore expects that the G

Overall we are pleased to note that matters of interest to us have been addressed and as such we consider the sound. We do however, have a few comments to make and suggested amendments for clarification purposes. Policy ENV2 - The Ashford Green Corridor As this policy refers among other areas to the riverside and it aims to maintain its protection and enhancement, we support this aims and objective of this policy.

Speaking as an individual, I would like to support the views of the Village Alliance that the he Ashford Green Corridor is an important element of the Local Plan, providing 'welcome breaks' in the built up areas and into the countryside beyond. However, it is absolutely essential that the Green Corridor should be extended in a north easterly direction around Waterbrook and past site U19 from its current eastern extremity near Cheeseman's Green as far as the M20 motorway and incorporating site WE

The Ashford Green Corridor is an important element of the Local Plan, providing 'welcome breaks' in the built up areas and into the countryside beyond. However, it is absolutely essential that the Green Corridor should be extended in a north easterly direction around Waterbrook and past site U19 from its current eastern extremity near Cheeseman's Green as far as the M20 motorway and incorporating site WE15. This would provide a strategic gap between the village of Mersham (both lower and upper M

Page 281 Ashford Green Corridor: The map should show more clearly the opportunity for extension of future potential of the land, to the west of the housing at Pearman Way and Swaffer Way on de Montford Park. This contains the Public Right of Way/Greensand Way and links the Ashford Community Woodland, the future potential of the old KCC waste-site with the footbridge over the A28 to the Parish Council allotments and the Great Chart Woodland. This land is currently farmland and is part of the Chil

Policy ENV2 – Green Corridor & Green Corridor Plan 5.34 We have no objection in principal with the concept of the Green Corridor and agree that the western edge of Park Farm South East, which is undevelopable, would make a positive contribution to this network as an open space and ecological resource. However, commensurate with our representations with respect of the 'Ashford Urban Area-Insert, Figure 2' the extent of the Green Corridor must be pulled back from the developable area of Park

Policy ENV2: The Ashford Green Corridor & Corresponding Plan 3.31 We strongly object to Policy ENV2 and the supporting plan at page 281 of the Local Plan, where it identifies a potential future extension to the Green Corridor over the development area of Land at Willesborough Lees (Policy S17). This would sterilise a significant portion of the allocated site, contrary to Policy S17 of the Local Plan. In addition, the extension to the corridor over the Site is not 'Justified', since the 'Ash

See Attached Document Chapter 5 extracted below: POLICY ENV2: THE ASHFORD GREEN CORRIDOR & SUPPORTING MAP 5.1 Policy ENV2 relates to the protection and enhancement of Ashford's Green Corridor. ENV 2 p230 The protection and enhancement of the Ashford Green corridor is supported. The extension of the Green corridor to the Kingsnorth Area is strongly supported. It is essential that the green corridor is protected from development in perpetuity.
