On which grounds do you consider the document unsound? (if applicable)
  • Not Justified
Do you consider the Document is Legally Compliant? Yes

The expansion of the green corridor to the south and east of Bridgefields is supported, but there is a concern that this area could be leap-frogged in the future, and a greater area of policy protection should be afforded to Mersham.

Land to the east of Cheeseman's Green Lane/ Feather Bed Lane, together with land to the east of U19 (known as WE15) should be protected as a strategic gap in perpetuity to protect the village of Mersham and Lower Mersham from the inappropriate expansion of 'urban' Ashford. This area is rich in biodiversity, and used for recreation, including dog-walkers.

What changes do you suggest to make the document legally compliant or sound? Expansion of the Green Corridor to include the land suggested in the attached document.
Do you consider it necessary to participate at the oral part of the examination? Yes
Does your representation relate to an omission site (a site that has not been included). For example a site for Housing, Employment, Travellers, or Local Green Spaces. No
Please supply details of the omission site. Omission of land within the Green Corridor (ENV2/ Policies Map). Plan attached.
