5.1 Policy ENV2 relates to the protection and enhancement of Ashford’s Green Corridor. The

policy refers to the requirement for development proposals to take into consideration the

appraisals, projects and management recommendations set out for the specific areas in the

Ashford Green Corridor Action Plan, including the identified proposed extension areas to the

designation. Paragraph 5.309 refers to ‘The Green Corridor Action Plan 2016, as supporting

the Local Plan, and it states that this document provides a description of the value of each

area of the current Green Corridor Network, identifies new areas for extension to the

designation and proposes opportunity areas to be considered in the future for extensions.

Those areas identified for extension and as having future potential for extension are shown

on the Ashford Green Corridor Proposals Map, contained within Section 7 of the emerging

Ashford Local Plan.

5.2 The ‘Ashford Green Corridor Action Plan’ provides the evidence base for the Green Corridor

Area (see Policy ENV2). This document has not be published by the Borough Council as part

of its evidence base and is otherwise not publically available. We are therefore unable to

comment on its content. This is a significant short coming, since Policy ENV2 specifically

restricts development in the Green Corridor which includes the proposed Green Corridor

extensions areas, such on ‘Land at Finn Farm’, which as already outlined we object to and

should be removed from the Site as a designation.

5.3 Policy ENV2 and Green Corridor Plan is therefore not ‘Justified’, would not make the Local

Plan ‘Effective’, is not ‘Consistent with National Policy’ and is not ‘Positively Prepared’.
