The Ashford Green Corridor is an important biodiversity asset within the Borough. To the south of the Town, the plan on page 281 of the consultation document shows ‘future potential’ extending from Chilmington Green in the west, through the new allocations proposed to the south of Ashford and then eastwards to Cheeseman’s Green. The protection and enhancement of the Ashford Green Corridor is one of the key objectives of the Plan set out in Policy ENV2 and the Council therefore expects that the Green Corridor will be protected and enhanced in new development that arises during the lifetime of this Plan.

With respect to the Green Corridor Plan, its depiction of Green Infrastructure as part of the Court Lodge scheme is shown incorrectly and strict adherence to this would limit the scope of development south of Pound Lane and west of Ashford Road within S4.
