Policy SP1 – Strategic Objectives

It is suggested locations such as Charing that are acknowledged by ABC to be suitable for residential

allocations (paragraph 4.296) should be the focus of housing development owing to their sustainability. It is

not appropriate to impose an arbitrary control on the amount of development in these locations.

What changes do you suggest to make the document legally compliant or sound? We therefore suggest that paragraph 3.5 should be changed to read:

The other rural service centres of Charing, Hamstreet and Wye will remain important providers of local shops and services, with care taken to conserve and enhance their historic centres through the delivery of development that is well contained and protects the character and setting of the countryside.
Do you consider it necessary to participate at the oral part of the examination? No
