  • Heathside Development

    Ashford Borough Council’s housing services team is proposing to build four new 1-bedroom apartments on Heathside and would like your feedback about its plans to develop the site. The overall picture There are currently around 1,350 people on the council’s waiting list for affordable housing, with 25 listing a local connection to Appledore, and of those, 12 with a one bedroom need. Throughout the pandemic the government has prioritised construction as an essential industry, ensuring that there remains a national focus on delivering good quality council housing. Like every other authority in the country, we must do our bit to try and alleviate the housing issues that we face. The consultation This is a genuine consultation to shape the planning application submission. This is the first of two opportunities you will have to comment on the proposals.

    We value your thoughts on our draft carbon neutral action plan and the eight priorities for action. We would like to understand what actions you are already taking, what else you would like to do and how the council could help you make changes to reduce carbon emissions and tackle climate change. Your responses will help us to finalise the action plan to enable everyone play their part in reducing carbon emissions.

    This survey is for residents broadly living in the South of Ashford. This includes but is not exclusive to the Parishes of Great Chart with Singleton, Shadoxhurst and Kingsnorth Green. Ashford Borough Council and Kent County Council are trying to understand current transport need and travel behaviours to better design and implement improvements in the area.
