Please note we are in the process of transferring to a new consultation portal system and the consultation responses on this consultation may be temporarily unavailable to view whilst we make this transition.
The Ashford Town Centre Area Action Plan (ATCAAP) is one of the key documents of the Ashford Local Development Framework (LDF). It is the first area-based part of the LDF to be produced and it sets out the overall strategy for the future of the town centre and identifies specific sites for development. The plan covers the period to 2021.
The Council’s adopted LDF Core Strategy (2008) states that the Town Centre needs to play an enhanced role to ensure the successful delivery of the Ashford Growth area. The ATCAAP sets out how this will be achieved and promotes the creation of a large number of new jobs, substantial levels of new development and a whole range of new uses to help meet the needs of the growing population. The ATCAAP balances these requirements with the need to carefully integrate this degree of change with the Town Centre’s current character and historic assets.
