Ashford Borough Council is reviewing its Domestic Abuse Policy, which creates a clear, structured, and accountable way for us to prevent, identify, and respond to domestic abuse. We want to hear your views to ensure the updated policy is fair, transparent, and meets the needs of our community.
What is a Domestic Abuse Policy?
The Domestic Abuse Policy sets out:
• How we will protect and support people experiencing abuse
• Clear guidance for staff and management
• How we will create a safe and supportive culture
• A framework for handling perpetrators
• Promoting consistency and accountability
• How we will ensure legal and ethical compliance
We seek your views to ensure that the policy is clear, supportive, practical, and trustworthy from the perspective of the people it’s meant to protect.

We are inviting residents, applicants, stakeholders, and partners to share their views on the proposed changes. Please find the policy attached in sidebar.
We ask that feedback is received by Friday 6th March 2026.
