Notice of Publication of the Pluckley Neighbourhood Plan Proposal -The Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 – Regulation 16

Neighbourhood planning was introduced through the Localism Act 2011, and enables local communities to shape development and growth in their area through the production of a neighbourhood development plan, a neighbourhood development order or a community right to build order.

A Neighbourhood Plan covers a geographic area and can be taken forward by town and parish councils or 'neighbourhood forums'. A Neighbourhood Plan, if approved, becomes part of the statutory development plan for that area and will be used in determining planning applications.

The Pluckley Proposal

Pluckley Parish Council have submitted their Neighbourhood Plan to Ashford Borough Council. This triggers a six week formal consultation period prior to the plan being examined by an independent examiner.

The six week formal consultation period starts 9am Thursday 8th September 2016 and concludes on Monday 24th October 2016.

The plan and background evidence can be viewed and commented on through this portal, which is the quickest option as you only have to provide your contact details once, and can amend your comments and add as many as you like.

If you would like to be notified of the Council’s decision on whether to accept the Examiner’s recommendation and future progress of the Pluckley plan, then please state this in your representation when prompted.
