Neighbourhood Planning
Neighbourhood planning was introduced through the Localism Act 2011, and enables local communities to shape development and growth in their area through the production of a neighbourhood plan, a neighbourhood development order or a community right to build order.
A Neighbourhood Area is a geographic area for which a Parish or Town Council or designated Neighbourhood Forum wish to produce a Neighbourhood Plan. A Neighbourhood Plan, if approved, becomes part of the statutory development plan for that area and will be used in determining planning applications.
Ashford Borough Council has received a request from Rolvenden Parish Council on 23rd April 2013 to designate a Neighbourhood Area. The area requested to be designated is the entire Parish of Rolvenden. A copy of the area application and map can be viewed below.
If you wish to make a comment on this request, please do so by 5pm on Friday 21st June 2013.
