Due to recent changes within the field of Sustainable Design and Construction, most notably revised Building Regulations (2010) and recent Government announcements on a definition of a zero carbon home, Ashford Borough Council is now consulting on proposed amendments to the Sustainable Design and Construction SPD.
This SPD sets out the details of how developers will be able to meet the sustainable design and construction standards set out in Policy CS10 of the Core Strategy. This policy works towards achieving zero carbon development, including minimising the use of resources and waste.
We are inviting members of the public and other stakeholders the opportunity of making representations on the Sustainable Design and Construction SPD - Interim Review December 2011 (Draft).For information, a schedule of the proposed changes is attached as a supporting document below.
Copies of the SPD will be made available for public inspection free of charge between Friday 16th December 2011 and Friday 27th January 2012 during opening hours at:
