The Council’s adopted Core Strategy (2008), which sets the strategic vision and planned growth for housing and jobs within the borough to 2021, is being formally reviewed and will be replaced by the Local Plan to 2030. This new plan will be in place by the end of 2014 and will need to identify sufficient land to provide for any new jobs and homes to 2030, as well as for Gypsy & Traveller’s sites, Leisure, Retail, Visitor and Tourism facilities.

Over the next three months, one of our aims will be to establish which sites within the borough, could be suitable to allocate for these future developments and facilities.

Do you have site/s for us to consider? If so, we would like you to complete a site submission form with as much detail as you can provide. To be considered, site submissions MUST be made on the Site Submission form.

To be considered for residential development, sites should be over 0.4 hectares in size in the Ashford urban area or over 0.2 hectares elsewhere, or be able to accomodate 10 dwellings or more.

If the proposal is for over 100 dwellings, the additional information form will need to be completed.

Please note that any information sent to us should be regarded as being in the public domain. It will be included within the Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment (SHLAA), and may form part of a formal consultation process in due course.

The deadline for completed forms is Friday 27th September 2013.

Site submission forms can be downloaded from here and reattached to this consultation once complete, along with a map, or emailed to: planningpolicy@ashford.gov.uk

Alternatively print and post to: Planning Policy, Planning and Development, Ashford Borough Council, Civic Centre, Tannery Lane, Ashford, Kent, TN23 1PL
