The Urban Sites and Infrastructure Development Plan Document (DPD) is one of the key documents of the Ashford Local Development Framework (LDF) covering the period up to 2017. Its role is to allocate land for development in the urban area of Ashford (excluding the town centre) and outline several topic policies relevant to urban planning issues.
The Regulation 27 Publication version of the Ashford Urban Sites and Infrastructure DPD went out for public consultation between the 16th December 2010 and the 4th February 2011. (The original December 2010 version of the Regulation 27 Publication version and the associated proposals map can be found under the 'consultation documents' below).
During this consultation period the Council received 831 representations - 687 objections, 116 in support and 28 general comments.
In the light of the responses made, the Borough Council is now proposing changes to the DPD. Some of these are considered to be "significant" changes and these are:
The deletion of Policy U6 - Land south of Godinton Park
New policy U6A - Former South primary school site
Policy U14 - land at Willesborough Lees
Policy U18 - Warren Lane
Policy U22 - Conningbrook Strategic Park
Extending the end date of the DPD to 2017
Other minor changes are also proposed.
At this stage comments are invited on the proposed changes only.
Overall, 41 changes have been outlined in the document, these changes have been identified by being 'struck-through' if something has been deleted and 'underlined' if something has been added. This consultation period offers you the opportunity to comment on these proposed changes only. The final document that will be submitted to the secretary of state, will incorporate the proposed changes and any amendments which derive from this consultation.
