Overview and Scrutiny Task Group – Water Supply Review Consultation

Ashford Borough Council's Overview and Scrutiny Committee has established a Task Group to review water supply resilience and infrastructure within the borough. The review has been launched following recent water supply incidents that affected residents, businesses and communities across Ashford Borough, and seeks to understand local experiences, future challenges and opportunities for improvement.

The Task Group is gathering evidence from a range of organisations, including water companies, regulators and other stakeholders. As part of this process, we are keen to hear directly from residents, businesses, community organisations and local councils about their experiences of water supply issues, the impacts they have faced and whether they feel current infrastructure is resilient enough to meet future needs.

The information collected through this consultation will help the Task Group understand the effects of water supply issues on local communities, assess how effectively information and support were provided during incidents and identify priorities for future improvements.

The consultation will remain open until Friday 4th September 2026. All responses will be considered as part of the Task Group's evidence gathering and may be used to inform its findings and recommendations.

If you would like to complete this consultation over the phone or via email, please get in touch at corporatepolicy.team@ashford.gov.uk and we can arrange this for you.

Thank you for taking the time to complete this consultation. Your views will help inform the Task Group's review and recommendations.
