Ashford Borough Council is preparing a new Local Plan for the borough so we are holding a series of events in the summer where you can;
find out what the plan is and how you can be involved
discover how the process works and how long it will take
ask questions and give us your feedback
What will the community events cover?
The events are intended to provide you with the opportunity to find out more about the new Local Plan and the process so that you can tell us what you think, ask questions and leave feedback.
The events will explain what a Local Plan is, what stage are we at, and when will we go out to formal public consultation.
Whilst explaining the process, we would also like to hear your likes and dislikes about where you live and your aspirations for the borough over the next 15 years on matters such as the environment, future needs for local housing, jobs, green spaces, and existing and new infrastructure etc. This is about planning for the future and addressing the issues of the present.

Ashford Borough Council is preparing a new Local Plan for the borough.
We want to hear your views on Ashford’s future and any particular issues you are facing in your local area.
We would like you to think about the aspirations you and your community have for the next 15 years, consider how your needs and those of others may change over time (i.e. single parent families, teenagers, senior citizens, persons with a disability, ethnic minorities, business owners etc.). How might your aspirations and those of your local community be fulfilled, what could the council do to help through the plan making process?
Is there a need for more houses in your area, are there enough jobs and local services, how can we protect our natural, historic and built environment, are there local transport or other infrastructure needs that need addressing?
Please tell us what you think by providing answers in this feedback form.
